Calf Hey Reservoir Gate Valve

At the start of the walk round Calf Hey Reservoir can be found this massive 20″ (500mm) Victorian valve, manufactured in 1856, four years before the reservoir opened.  It’s good to find that United Utilities preserved it and left it with such a stunning backdrop of Musbury Heights.
