One of three, early, water-powered, woollen-mills on Bridge Clough Water built around 1790. It doesn’t appear to have been successful for any of its owners, about which little is known. In the 1870s, it appears to have been owned by George Sandham and contained two mules and twenty looms.

The mill was on the opposite side of the stream and the flue ran beneath it.
